Why did we do this? It's pretty simple: as a busy team of two, we can't keep the app updated by ourselves. We do not make money from Dialog and adding new features has taken time away from our jobs, projects, etc.
What does this mean? Honestly, I'm not 100% sure.
If people intend to build onto what we already have, great. We have a to-do list of planned updates and encourage people to submit pull requests and issues. If you're looking to take the source and fork your own, that's fine too. We'd ask that you credit Rupak and myself if possible. Also, please share whatever you make so we can swoon over it or maybe help in some way.
If you have any comments or questions, please reach out. This is uncharted territory for me so any feedback on the open source process would be appreciated. I want to give a big shout-out to the Dialog users that continue to use and love the app, you're the reason it exists at all. Also, my thanks to Rupak for all his work on the app. The guy's an Android wizard and I'm so happy he joined me on this journey and took a chance on this little idea.
